Create and manage Google Ads proximity targets in Search Ads 360

Use a bulksheet to create or edit proximity targets

  1. In Search Ads 360, navigate to a Google Ads engine account or campaign.
Steps for navigating to a campaign
    1. In the left navigation panel, click All accounts.
What if the left navigation pane isn't visible?

    2. Click the navigation bar to display navigation options.

    3. In the "Agency" list, click on the agency that contains the advertiser. You can search for an agency by name or scroll through the list.

    4. In the "Advertiser" list, click on the advertiser that contains the engine account.

    5. In the "Account" list, click on the engine account that contains the campaign.
    6. In the "Campaign" list, click on the campaign.

    7. Click Apply or press the Enter key.

Search Ads 360 displays the campaign page.

  2. Click the Targets ▼ tab and select Location targets.
The Location targets tab displays all proximity targets that you have created for the campaign, along with any location-extension targets that are applied to the campaign.
  3. Download a bulksheet that contains the targets:
    1. To download specific location targets, select the checkbox next to each target you want to download.
    2. Click the download icon , which appears above the reporting table.
    3. Keep the default settings:
      • Columns: Editable columns
      • Include types: Location targets
    4. Click Download.
Search Ads 360 generates the report and either downloads the file to your browser's download directory or sends an email, depending on the delivery option you selected.

If you selected to download a report and the report is very large, it may take awhile for Search Ads 360 to generate the report. You can still use Search Ads 360 while the report is generating. A status bar indicates the progress of the report generation. When it's complete, a Download link appears in the status bar. Click the link to download the report.

  4. To change the bid for a proximity target, change the value in the Location bid adjustment % column of the bulksheet.
You can enter an adjustment from -90 to 900. A negative adjustment decreases the bid. A value of 0 makes no adjustment to the default bid.
  5. To create a new proximity target, add a new row and do the following:
    1. In the Row type column, enter proximity target.
    2. In the Action column, enter create.
    3. Enter information in all of the proximity-target columns.
  6. To remove a proximity target, enter remove in the Action column.
  7. Save the bulksheet and upload it into Search Ads 360.

Bulksheet columns for creating proximity targets

Use these columns to create a proximity target (for an existing proximity target, only the Location bid adjustment % is editable)

  • Row Type: Enter proximity target
  • Account: The name of the Google Ads engine account in which the proximity target adjusts bids.
  • Campaign: The name of the campaign in which the proximity target adjusts bids.
  • Proximity target name: A name for the proximity target. The name appears in Search Ads 360 reporting tables to help you identify the location.
  • Address: The location's street address.

You can test that the address is valid by entering it in Google Maps. If Google Maps recognizes the address, Google Ads will recognize it.

You can either enter an address in this column or latitude and longitude in the Latitude and Longitude columns.

  • Latitude: The location's latitude in the digital format. Google Ads rounds to the nearest 100th. For example, 37.42 (37 degrees, 25 minutes, 12 seconds, north)
  • Longitude: The location's longitude in the digital format. Google Ads rounds to the nearest 100th. For example, -122.09 (122 degrees, 5 minutes, 24 seconds, west).
  • Location Radius: The radius around the location. Enter a number in this column and the unit in Location Radius Units. For example, enter 5 in this column to specify a 5 mile or kilometer radius.
  • Location Radius Units: The unit of measurement for the radius specified in the Location Radius column. Enter mi for miles and km for kilometers.
  • Location bid adjustment %: The amount to adjust bids. For example, enter 5 to increase bids by 5%.

You can enter an adjustment from -90 to 900. A negative adjustment decreases the bid. A value of 0 makes no adjustment to the default bid.
