Make bulk changes to a Google Ads Shopping campaign

If you want to make changes to a significant number of your Google Ads Shopping campaigns’ product groups, bids, tracking templates, or custom parameters, you can save time by using bulk uploads. Start by downloading an editable report, then make changes in the document and upload the updated report to your account, where you can preview and apply your new changes.

Download a product group report

  1. Sign in to your new Search Ads 360.
  2. Navigate to a Google Ads client account.
  3. On the page menu, click Campaigns
  4. Click the name of the Shopping campaign you'd like to make changes to.
  5. On the Ad groups page, click the name of an ad group. 
  6. On the Product groups page, make sure the table is displaying all of the columns you may want to edit.
  7. To add additional columns, click the columns icon  on the table toolbar.
  8. On the table toolbar, click the download icon  and select More options.
  9. In the "Download" window, choose the file format you'd like to use from the drop-down, then select the checkbox for All editable columns for Bulk Upload.
  10. Click Download.

Edit your product group report

  1. Open the product group report you downloaded. 
  2. Review all product groups in the ad group, edit the product groups for multiple ad groups and campaigns, and edit the max. CPC bids, tracking templates, custom parameters, and destination URLs for product groups that aren't listed. 
    • Don't worry about deleting extraneous columns or the total rows. When you upload your edited report, unessential items will be ignored. 
  3. Ensure you save your spreadsheet in one of the supported formats (such as .xlsx, .tsv, or .csv).

The "Row Type" and "Customer ID" columns are required when you upload your edited spreadsheet to the New Search Ads 360. Be sure to select "Product group" for your "Row type" column.

Upload your product group report

  1.  Sign in to your new Search Ads 360.
  2. Navigate to a Google Ads client account.
  3. In the navigation menu, click the tools and setting icon .
  4. Under "Bulk Actions", click Uploads
  5. Click the plus button  to create a new upload.
  6. Click the Select source drop-down.
  7. Select Google Sheets, then click Link an existing Google Sheet to locate your edited and saved spreadsheet.
  8. If you want changes to apply to all accounts in your file, select Multiple accounts in the drop-down. If you want changes to apply only to the account you're scoped to, select This account.
  9. (Optional) To send an email alert about the upload, select the Send an email when upload is finished checkbox, then choose the recipient's email address in the field that appears.
  10. To review your file, click Preview
  11. When you are ready to upload your spreadsheet, click Apply.

Fix errors in your product group report

  1.   Sign in to your new Search Ads 360.
  2. Navigate to a Google Ads client account.
  3. In the navigation menu, click the tools and setting icon .
  4. Under "Bulk Actions", click All bulk actions.
  5. In the page menu, click Uploads.
  6. Locate your spreadsheet in the table.
  7. In the row with your report, click Download errors in the "Actions or next steps" column.
  8. To view error details, click on the number of errors in the "Changes" column to go to the Details page.
  9. In the "Results" column on your spreadsheet, find each issue and fix it.
  10. Save the file and reupload your spreadsheet.
