Transfer data from a BlackBerry or Windows phone to a Pixel

Data that you've saved to your Google Account automatically shows on your Pixel phone after you sign in. You can move other data with the steps below.

Important: If your data storage is full based on your device's capacity, data transfer could pause. Make sure that you check your storage capacity before you start data transfer.

Step 1: Get ready to copy

  1. Charge both phones.
  2. Sync your BlackBerry or Windows phone to your Google Account.
  3. Insert your SIM card into your Pixel phone. Learn how.
    Tip: If Google Fi is your mobile operator, you can use eSIM or a SIM card.
  4. Turn on your Pixel phone.
  5. Tap Start And then Set up as new. Follow the on-screen steps.
    • If you pick a different option, you'll see: 'Phone may not be supported'.
    • If you don't see 'Start', your Pixel is already set up. You can still copy your data at any time.

Continue using Google Account contacts

If you already use contacts in your Google Account, like in Gmail, you'll see them in your communication apps on your Pixel phone. Find out about using contacts on your phone

Add contacts from another email provider

If you use contacts with another web-based email provider, you can import those contacts into your Google Account. For example, you can import from Outlook, Hotmail, Yahoo and AOL. Find out how to import contacts from another email provider.

Copy calendar events

Continue using Google Calendar

If you already use Google Calendar, open your Pixel phone's Calendar app Calendar. You'll find your events. Sync Calendar with a phone or tablet.

Add events from another calendar app

You can download many of the apps that you had on your Windows phone or BlackBerry from Google Play.
