Update an RCS sent message

You can edit a Rich Communication Services (RCS) message after you send it. This feature is for RCS only, not SMS or MMS. Editing is enabled in the app only, not on the web UI.

The ability to edit a sent message expires after 15 minutes, regardless whether the recipient has read the message or responded to it.

An "Edited" label appears above the message in the conversation for both the sender and recipient.

Edit an RCS sent message

1. Touch and hold a sent message in an RCS conversation.
2. At the top of the screen, tap Edit .
   • If the user touch and hold a message after 15 minutes, the Edit won’t be available.
3. Edit the message.
4. To update the sent message, tap Check .
   • To exit the editing view, next to “Edit message,” tap Exit .
