Create a profile lock on Google TV

You can create a profile lock when signed-in to Google TV. With profile lock, you need a PIN to access your profile’s content on Google TV and when switching profiles.

You can enable this feature in 2 ways:

  • When you set up your Google TV device for the first time, you’ll be prompted to set up a profile lock.
  • Through the Google TV settings, where you can also update or deactivate the feature.

Set up a profile lock

Important: On devices with multiple profiles, when you set a profile lock on one profile, it sets the lock only for that profile.

  1. From the Google TV home screen, select Settings Settings and then Accounts & Sign In and then Choose account.
  2. Select the account you want to set the profile lock.
  3. Turn on Profile lock.

If you’ve previously set up a device settings lock, it will automatically be converted to a profile lock.

Add a device lock to basic TV mode on Google TV

You can create a device lock in “basic TV mode” on Google TV. With device lock, you need a PIN to access content on the TV and when switching inputs. You can access, update, or deactivate the feature through Google TV settings.

Set up a device lock

  1. From Google TV home screen, select Settings Settings and then Privacy and then Device lock.
  2. Turn on Device lock.
