- On your device, open your Settings app.
- Tap System Languages App Languages.
- Select the app you want to change.
- Choose a language.
Tip: You can only change the language for apps that support language selection.
Troubleshoot problems with app language feature
"All languages" lists the languages that a specific app supports. To get the most up-to-date list of supported languages, update your app.
If you change the app setting, but the app language doesn't changeIf you select a language but notice the app language doesn't change, try these fixes:
- Restart the app.
- Make sure your device has a network connection. If you change your app language when you’re not connected to the internet, the app language may not update.
- Add the language as a secondary language, then try again to switch the app language:
- On your Android device, open your Settings app.
- Tap System Languages & input Languages.
- Add the language as a secondary language.
- After a few minutes, re-open your Settings app.
- Tap System Languages & input App Languages.
- Select the app you want to change.
- Choose the language.
If the language feature still doesn't work, the list of supported languages provided by the app may not be accurate.
Some apps don't support this language feature. Only apps whose developers opt-in to this feature will display in the apps list.
If an app seems stuck in a language that is different from your System languages, you might be able to reset the app if you clear app data. Some apps only let you change the language from within the app or an associated app-specific account.
