To rename your Nest Wifi or Google Wifi network name:
- Open the Google Home app .
- Tap Favourites Wi-Fi Settings .
- Enter a new network name.
- Tap Save.
- Network names must be between 1 and 31 characters.
- Make sure that there isn't an accidental space at the beginning or end of your network name.
Reuse an older network name and password
If you reuse a network name and password from an old router, you won't have to reconnect devices that were previously on the network.
Note: If your old router is still broadcasting a Wi-Fi network, you may observe odd behaviour because some devices will be connected to your Wi-Fi point and others connected to your older router. You can enable Bridge mode on your old router to fix this.
