When customers visit a Business Profile on the Google Maps app, they have an option to add a photo update in addition to a review.
How photo updates work
Photo updates let customers add an update of individual or multiple photos, with or without text, about a recent experience they had with a business. Customers can add multiple photo updates to a business. This differs from reviews, which they can update after the review is posted, but can only leave a single review.
You can’t opt-out of photo updates. Instead, you can report inappropriate photo updates.
Find photo updates
You can find photo updates in the “By visitors” section in the "Updates" tab of your Business Profile in the Google Maps app. You can also find individual photos from photo updates in the “Photos” tab on all platforms and devices.
You can add updates in the “By Owner” section of the “Updates” tab. Learn how to add posts with photos or other post types.
