In August 2024, the Google Ads Healthcare and medicines policy will be updated to introduce a certificate for public health and safety awareness campaigns in France. As part of the update, governmental or well-established non-profit health advocacy organisations may use prescription drug terms, including prescription opioid painkiller terms, in ad text, landing pages and keywords.

Advertisers will need to apply for certification with Google. The application for France will open on 27 August 2024.

Violations of this policy will not lead to immediate account suspension without prior warning. A warning will be issued, at least seven days prior to any suspension of your account.
