Guidelines for using Privacy & messaging

The Ad Manager, AdMob, and AdSense Privacy & messaging pages help you manage privacy choices, monetize your content, and communicate with users to gather consent.

Google consent management solutions participates in the IAB Europe Transparency & Consent Framework and Complies with its Specifications and Policies (the "IAB Requirements"). Google operates this Consent Management Platform with identification number 300 and is listed as "Google LLC."

When using the Privacy & messaging features in Ad Manager, AdMob, and AdSense, keep the following guidelines in mind.

Use Privacy & messaging responsibly

It is your responsibility to ensure that any user messaging associated with consent gathering for the use of their personal data, including any default language provided by Ad Manager, AdMob, and AdSense, meets your legal requirements. It is also your responsibility to ensure that your use of Ad Manager, AdMob, and AdSense messaging is compliant with the IAB Requirements. If your messaging and/or configuration are not compliant with the IAB Requirements, we may discontinue showing your messages to EEA and UK users.

Respect user privacy

You are required to use the Privacy & messaging features in ways that respect users' privacy decisions towards your services and services provided by vendors you work with.

Include a revocation link

Additionally, it is your responsibility to implement a link that allows EEA and UK users to revoke any data decisions previously made by a user pursuant to the IAB Requirements.

The link or button should say "Privacy and cookie settings". Technical guidance for implementing this link can be viewed here.
