Traffic native ads in Google Ad Manager

Decide which ad units to target for native ads

Before you create native ads, you need to either create new ad units (the spaces on your website or app where you want to show native ads) or use existing ones. These are the ad units you'll target in the native style in the next section.

  1. Sign in to Google Ad Manager.
  2. Navigate to Inventory, then Ad units.
  3. Choose whether to:
    • Create a new ad unit: Click New ad unit.
    • Edit an existing ad unit: Click the name of one of the ad units in the table and then click Settings.
  4. In the "Sizes" section:
    • Select Fixed Size in the "Size mode" dropdown.
    • In the "Sizes (optional)" field, select pixel sizes, or Fluid if you want to enable responsive slots for native ads.

Learn more about "Fluid" ad sizes for native

"Fluid" is a native ad size that allows more flexibility when styling your ad.

Google Ad Manager automatically sizes the ad by filling the width of the enclosing column and adjusting the height as appropriate (just like a regular HTML div on your site). This size works in combination with the fluid slot type in Google Publisher Tags or the Google Mobile Ads SDK  for Android and iOS.

To use the Fluid size for native ads:

      1. When you configure your native style, choose Fluid as the "Ad size".
      2. Target ad units that are also configured to use "Fluid" as the size. The sizes for the ad unit and native style must match.
To improve native performance, make sure your fluid-sized native ads only serve into parent containers that have a div width greater than 0 pixels.
  5. Configure ad unit settings as needed and click Save.
