Connect hearing aids to your device

When you use hearing aids, it amplifies sound and makes it easier for you to hear.

Important: Some of these steps work only on Android 14 or later. Learn how to check your Android version.

Hearing aid compatibility

“M” or acoustic coupling mode

To use your hearing aid in "M," or acoustic coupling mode, make sure that your hearing aid is set to "M," and position the Android device receiver near the hearing aid's built-in microphone or microphones. The hearing aid will receive audio from the Pixel phone through its built-in microphones.

“T” or telecoil (inductive) coupling mode

To use your hearing aid in "T," or telecoil (inductive) coupling mode, make sure that your hearing aid is set to "T," and turn on Hearing Aid Compatibility (HAC) mode on your Android device (see below). The hearing aid will receive only audio signal-based magnetic fields generated by the inductive coupling-capable Pixel phone.
